Replacement of Public PC motherboards, Friday 2/18

"Please be advised that Systems will be working with a 3rd party maintenance crew THIS FRIDAY (02/18) to replace up to 50% of the public PCs’ motherboards. They will be using the consultation room behind the RefDesk as their “base of operations,” where they will be prepping equipment to move out onto the floor; Beth has already reserved the room for this purpose.

I will be sending a list of the affected PCs to Paul Sherry, so that “Out of Order” signs may be placed on the machines, preventing their daytime use on Friday. On Friday, let your staff/students know to please not be alarmed by the overwhelming number of computers that are labeled “out of order.” When coordinated well, this process should run relatively smoothly."
